Orange Goblin
Here are some of the stand out releases to be released today:
Lizzy Borden – My Midnight Things
The California band is back with their first album in eleven years, with mainstays Joey Scott, Marten Andersson, and Ira Black backing Lizzy, essentially the same band that has backed him since 2007. The album channels all of those horror elements and sunset strip sounds that they’ve delivered in the past.
Orange Goblin – The Wolf Bites Back
The title of the album is perfect, this is a band that has been around for two-plus decades, and just doesn’t give a damn. They rip your face off with their albums, and stage performances, and have never really followed any sort of current-day fashions. One could say, they’ve always been a band to bite back from fads that have come and gone, while they have stayed true, giving you the same pummeling doom metal you have come to love from them.
ASG – Survive Sunrise
This is a band that I first became aware of a few years back, and have played them a considerable amount since. This is the North Carolinian stoner metal band’s first release in five years, since Blood Drive, which happens to the be the album that turned me on to them. They just have a great way of presenting mesmerizing riffs, with equally mesmerizing vocal melodies.
