Emigrate, BillyBio, Dog Eat Dog + More
Here are some of the new albums that come out today:
Emigrate – A Million Miles
This is the third album Richard Z. Kruspe has released under the Emigrate banner. Most of you know him as the guitarist of Rammstein, that said, the first Emigrate album was released over 10 years ago, with Silent So Long, an album I still play from time to time, came out seven years later.
I honestly prefer this band to his “day job”, but to each their own. Much like previous releases, the album features cameo appearances from members of Billy Talent, Dirty Mary, and Combichrist among others. If you’re into his brand of industrial hard rock, this may be the album for you.
BillyBio – Feed The Fire
Billy Graziadei has been part of Suicide City, and most recently Powerflo, but he is best known for his years in Biohazard, hence the name of this project. His voice and riffage were a big part of Biohazard, and it is ever-present on this release.
Whether the music is straight-up hardcore, punk, or he decides to experiment on the album, he isn’t going to really catch too many people off guard as the album is chalked full of all of the elements you’ve come to love from Billy.
Dog Eat Dog – New Breed EP
There aren’t too many bands that can boast about having Ronnie James Dio sing on one of their albums, but the track “Games” by the band featured Ronnie singing the national anthem, and chorus.
The song was in heavy rotation at WSOU, and is how I initially got introduced to the band’s music. I knew about the whole Warrant album, given that the band Warrant had released an album called Dog Eat Dog, but I had never checked them out before hearing “Games”.
In any event, this EP is made up of four new tracks, and four live tracks. This New Jersey band has always mixed styles of music, so nothing off of this EP should catch fans off guard, as the EP contains what you’ve come to expect from the band.
