Testament – Titans Of Creation
Definitely one of my most anticipated releases of the year. My only doubt was how the band would move forward without Andy Sneap behind the boards. Some bands can excel at producing their own music. While others don’t have the ability to determine what’s gold, and what’s a hot steaming turd. Once I heard “Night Of The Witch” I knew things were in good hands. They drove this point home further with “Children Of The Next Level“.

There are very few albums the band has released that have not made my list of favorite albums for that given year. I expect Titans Of Creation to do the same. When other bands were trying to keep up with the Jones, Testament kept getting heavier. The band has never shied from forging their own path. This album is a continuation of that. The band hits you with surgical precision without it being mechanical. It is never overthought, it is punishing with reason. One of the best albums to come out so far in 2020 and a must-have for any fan of thrash metal or Testament.
Bonfire – Fistful Of Fire
The German band has released album number 17. According to them, this is their heaviest album yet. Fueled by touring with Judas Priest, they decided to keep their signature melodies. But show people a tougher side of the band.
Conception – State of Deception
The Norwegian band has been away for twenty years, which makes this easily fall into the new to me category. The album features a duet with Amaranthe singer Elize Ryd, and is mixed by Stefan Glaumann. Best known for his work with Rammstein, Within Temptation and Europe.
Lady Beast – The Vulture’s Amulet
This American Heavy Metal band has been around for a little over a decade. This is their third release on Reaper Metal Productions. The band’s first since last year’s The Early Collection. Miss a band like Huntress? Well Lady Beast might actually fill the void.
