GILBY CLARKE FORMER GUNS N ROSES GUITARIST RELEASES NEW SINGLE

Gilby Clarke is best known for his time in bands like Candy and Kill For Thrill.  No that ain’t it, Rockstar: Supernova?  Nope, that ain’t it either.  Oh yeah, he was once in Guns N Roses.  He did actually appear on the Spaghetti Incident, Live Era 88 – 91. As a result, he made it onto the band’s The Greatest Hits album.  But, he is best known for taking over the rhythm guitar spot in GNR for Izzy Stradlin.  He would tour with the band for several years behind the Use Your Illusion albums.

Over the years he’s worked with Slash’s Snakepit, The MC5, Heart, Kim Fowley, and Nancy Sinatra to name a few.  Kim Fowley is known for the Runaways and co-writing with people such as Kiss, among other things. He caught the eye of one Saul Hudson because of his ghostwriting with Fowley. Slash called him one night, and it would change his life forever, making him part of GNR folklore.

GILBY CLARKE’S RESUME READS LIKE A WHO’S WHO OF ROCK ROYALTY

In recent years he’s played in Kings Of Chaos with former Guns drummer Matt Sorum.  The band’s revolving lineup includes Steven Tyler, Joe Elliott, and Gene Simmons.  No slouches if you ask anyone that knows a thing or two about rock music.  You can slag him all you want about not being Izzy. But, how many other artists can boast about being involved with all of those acts over the years?

He has released solo albums like Pawnshop Guitars, The Hangover, Rubber, 99 Live, and Swag.  All to critical acclaim.

He will be releasing his first solo album in eighteen years on Golden Robot Records.  As a primer for the album’s release, they are releasing a video for the track “Rock N Roll Is Getting Louder”.  The video has a few cameos, first off, his backing band consists of Jimmy D’Anda and E.J. Curse.  Throughout the video, you’ll see Slim Jim Phantom of Stray Cats. Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat. Jimmy Herald of Hillbilly Herald, and another GNR alumni Teddy ‘Zig Zag’ Andreadis.
