News: Donnie Vie Unleashes New Single June 2020

DONNIE VIE ORIGINAL ENUFF Z’ NUFF LEAD SINGER RELEASES NEW SONG

Donnie Vie, is best know as being the original voice, and one of the main songwriters of the band Enuff Z’ Nuff. He has just released a new single called “All My Favorite Things”. The song is available on all digital platforms. It was composed, and recorded during the current quarantine.

Donnie had this to say about the track: “I wrote this in the quarantine/stay at home period of 2020, reflecting back on my life, career, and memories”.

Here is a short clip of Donnie talking about the track:

Donnie has had his issues over the years, as evident by the video posted above. His on again off again feud with his former Enuff Z’ Nuff band mate Chip Z’Nuff is well documented. A lot of fans have been clamoring for the two to settle their differences. Like with most bands where a major component is replaces, or leaves, you see the fan base splinter. Enuff Z’Nuff is no exception, and it seems like fans and band a like have been going back and forth for quite some time.

Whether it’s bad mouthing in the press or social media. Or lobbing assaults with perfectly timed album or single releases. Donnie and his old band had been at odds for a while. I had heard rumors a few months back that Donnie and Chip where trying to work things out. But I was not sure to what extent a reconciliation might take place. I little while ago I posted about Donnie guesting on the new Enuff Z’Nuff album Brainwashed Generation. This once again split fans. I received messages from fans saying “this is so great, so happy he’s going to be on the album”. To the glass half-full comments of “It’s only one song”.

For a lot of us “New Thing” was our introduction to Donnie Vie and his former band Enuff Z’Nuff. Check the song out here:

Given everything that’s transpired, I’m surprised that we’re getting this one track. But again, wanting to look at things in a positive light, could this lead to more in the future? Could this push both sides to want to make the effort to work again on an album worth of material? Stranger things have happened, who thought David Lee Roth would one day play in Van Halen again? There are a lot of other examples of bands that were at each other’s throats, that reconciled. So who knows?

The Grammy-nominated artist has amassed over 25 albums’ worth of songs and decades of live shows to his name, both with and without his former band. Now a solo act, Vie continues his songwriting and performing under his own name. Rolling Stone Magazine described Donnie’s writing skills as “Beatle-esque pop songcraft and ripping hard rock,” while Billboard Magazine says, “If there is such a thing as false advertising in rock & roll, then Enuff Z’Nuff is one of its textbook examples. Packaged in garish peace-glam attire by their record company, the group was wrongly lumped in with the disposable pop-metal bands of the late ’80s rather than appreciated for the truly gifted power pop act that they were.”

His last album Beautiful Things came out in April of last year. This was his first new album full of new material since 2014’s The White Album. The album featured special guests Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (Jellyfish) and Mike LePond (Symphony X). In the event that you have not pick that album up yet, you can still pick up a CD or vinyl copy here.
