LARS ULRICH SURPRISES METALLICA FAN ON JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE
Unless you live under a rock, you obviously know who Lars Ulrich and Metallica are. The band catches a lot of undue crap, it kind of comes along with being the biggest metal band of all time. And being one of the last stadium bands around. The bigger you are, the more flies you attract per se.
They have been releasing live shows on YouTube and Facebook, to raise money during the pandemic for their All Within My Hands Foundation. The band has been involved with various charities over the years. Their foundation was established back in 2017. As per their mission statement, they are: “dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services“. The videos are part of #MetallicaMondys, and are free, but they’re asking people to donate as they watch. They’re working with Feeding America and Direct Relief to help with food and medical supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yesterday, Lars took part in a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live called #HealthCareHero. Jimmy had a pediatric nurse from Long Island named Tracey Bednar. She happens to be a Metallica super fan, that is treating kids that have been infected by COVID-19. She lists off a bunch of things that she likes to do to unwind, one of them is blasting the Bay Area band’s music. Unbeknownst to her, Lars is listening to the entire time, before being shown on camera.
Check out Jimmy & Lars surprising Tracy:
Jimmy informs Tracey that Big Lots is giving her $10,000 and gift cards to the store for her co-workers. Lars then lets her know that she’s invited to the next Metallica show in her area. They’ll give her the V.I.P. treatment, and take her out to dinner. The band is also giving her an autographed copy of the upcoming S&M2 boxed set, which comes out in August.
Not such a bad guy after all.
