AMAHIRU DROPS THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ON NOVEMBER 27

Amahiru is a super group of sorts. It features Frédéric Leclercq currently of Kreator and Sinsaenum with Joey Jordinson. But he’s best known for his time in DragonForce. Along side he has Japanese guitarist extraordinaire Saki. She’s in Mary’s Blood, and Nemophila and all female band in Japan.

Joining them for the ride is Mike Heller of Fear Factory and Raven, Coen Janssen of Epica, Kifu Mitsuhashi who provides the Japanese woodwind instrumentation, and lead singer Archie Wilson.

Frédéric had the following to say about the band:

I’m influenced by many artists, pretty much anything I hear I can consider an influence and music should be the reflection of that. With Amahiru, I personally wanted to do something groovy and melodic and still metal/hard rock. We didn’t want to make 12 songs sounding the same. Saki and I have a lot in common musically and it was really easy to work together in the same direction.

Frédéric and Saki first met when Mary’s Blood opened for DragonForce in 2015. They got along well almost instantly, and had been exchanging ideas for years, until they were finally able to bring things to fruition in 2019. The result is the band’s debut album, which drops in November.
