AUDREY HORNE BACK WITH ALBUM NUMBER SEVEN
Audrey Horne is a Norwegian band has been at it for two decades. They are a band that I would classify as “new to me.”
A few months back I was sent the promo video for the album’s title track. The call back to the NWOBHM, specifically Iron Maiden caught my ear immediately. So I posted the track on my Patreon page, to see if my Patrons were into the track as well.
The best thing about Devil’s Bell, is yes, the title track does sound like Maiden. But none of the other tracks sound like it was influenced by the British band. Sure there are things here and there, but the rest of the album really varies. It’s without a doubt, all hard rock. But, some of it feels like Thin Lizzy, some like Y&T. A little 70s and 80s hard rock, with some modern production so as to not make the album sound totally retro, or dated.
The album is pretty solid top to bottom. If you were like me and didn’t know Audrey Horne, give Devil’s Bell a listen this weekend.
Here is Audrey Horne with the track "Animal" off of their latest album Devil's Bell.
