New Releases: July 15, 2022 – Sick N’ Beautiful

Sick N' Beautiful - Starstruck

Sick N’ Beautiful is a band out of Italy. Their new album Starstruck is being released by Frontiers Music, also from Italy. Frontiers is best known for releasing bands whose heyday was the 80s or heavily influenced by that decade’s music.

This is why releasing this album is a pretty big deal for Frontiers. It is a big chance to take.

This is album number three, their first since 2018’s Element of Sex.

The band is currently on Frontiers Music.

The band has been together since 2013.

Sick N’ Beautiful are closer to a band like Marilyn Manson, In This Moment, or Rob Zombie than anything else on Frontiers. The closest thing to the band on the label is Edge Of Paradise who also dips their toes into industrial metal. Both bands are great, and really stick out when looking at the label’s roster. Credit to them for releasing Starstruck, and trying things that don’t fit with what they’re known usually for.

The band immediately grasps you due to their imagery. But, their music also does a good job of hooking you. Starstruck is a really good listen from beginning to end. Especially, if you’re into any of the bands I listed above.

Much like most of the bands that play industrial metal, originality isn’t a strong suit, but entertainment is. Starstruck entertains me, from the album’s first note. Plenty of big thick riffs, catchy melodies, choruses, and all of the other accouterments you would expect from a band that is offering up this brand of metal.

Give the album a shot if you’re looking for something different, new, or think it will slot in nicely in your Manson, Zombie, or In This Moment (among others) playlist.

Here is Sick N' Beautiful with the title track off of their latest album Starstruck.

Signals From Mars Trivia Tuesday on Twitch is a new show where, as you might suspect, I throw out a bunch of hard rock and metal trivia questions to the audience.

In the last few weeks, we’ve seen the winner determined in the last round.

Not only do you need to know the correct answer, but you also need to be the quickest to answer correctly. The faster you answer, the more points you obtain. But answer wrong, and you’ll lose points.
