New Releases: July 29, 2022 – Stick To Your Guns

Stick To Your Guns - Spectre

Stick To Your Guns (STYG) is a band out of Orange County California. I like all types of music, and I realize that this is slightly left of center in comparison to what visitors usually come here to check out. But after listening to a bunch of different releases that come out today, this is the album that jumped out at me the most.

This is album number seven, their first since 2017’s True View.

The band is currently on Purse Noise Records.

As per Wikipedia, since 2003, so nineteen years.

Spectre is the band’s seventh album. It is their first since 2017’s True View and their second for Pure Noise Records. Although the band is labeled as a hardcore band, Spectre is much more than just a hardcore album.

Yes, the album has hardcore tracks on it, but the album meanders between that, punk, straight-up rock, and ends with an acoustic track that some may consider emo. The band seems to be yet another that has benefitted from downtime related to COVID. I say this because a lot of reviewers on the web are saying this is their most complex album to date.

You may not be into every track, but there is enough variety on Spectre to enjoy what Stick To Your Guns has offered up.

Here is Stick To Your Guns with the track "Weapon" off of their latest album Spectre.

Signals From Mars Trivia Tuesday on Twitch is a new show where, as you might suspect, I throw out a bunch of hard rock and metal trivia questions to the audience.

In the last few weeks, we’ve seen the winner determined in the last round.

Not only do you need to know the correct answer, but you also need to be the quickest to answer correctly. The faster you answer, the more points you obtain. But answer wrong, and you’ll lose points.
