FAREWELL TO FEAR SHOW THEIR PULL WITH POLARITY
Farewell To Fear is back with their third album, called Polarity. This five-piece garnered millions of downloads for their cover of the Rihanna hit “Diamonds”.
But we’ve seen plenty of bands over the years that do that one cover, and then you can’t remember any of their originals. Is Farewell To Fear one of these bands? Or can they shake the fate that bands like Alien Ant Farm succame to, when anyone outside of a die-hard only remembers that one cover?
This is album number three by the band.
The band is currently on Crusader Records, which is part of Golden Robot Global Entertainment Group.
The band isn’t reinventing anything on Polarity. They do a little of everything on the album. You can clearly hear influences like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Seether, Alice In Chains, and more. The album is full of cool chugging riffs, and strong vocals.
Mike Craig and Tommy Gibbons offer up a mix of clean and guttural vocals, which really makes the band stand out when comparing them to other modern hard rock bands. And yes, there is a cover on the album, but nothing close to Rihanna! This time around the band takes on the Faith No More classic “Surprise! You’re Dead!”
Again, Farewell To Fear is not reinventing anything with Polarity, but it’s still an entertaining listen. Check it out if you’re in the mood for something new.
